A.D.E. STUDIO is a shop, atelier, secondhouse for costume designer built in port area of Minato-ku, Tokyo. Client requested to design this studio as a stage to express his living style (of food, clothing and shelter) while treating his guests or having meeting according to time. We designed this building like a huge stair hall which has several unique stairs in each direction finished by architectural concrete with 5m in floor height. Formwork was usual plywood in rough state with equal spacing, and directly diverted for the lower layer in the upper layer. We designed this architecture to have a view of highway, warehouse, and port buildings in each space of atelier with lively feeling of mega-structures of port area.
