KOMAZAWA TERRACE is a commercial tenant building which was built on the site which extends over city planning road. We planned this building as wooden structure on planning road and as RC structure outside of planning road, and designed wooden framework of laminated lumber along the road to be the facade of the commercial building. This laminated lumber showed out as the building facade secures fireproof performance by burning margin calculation. This design tried to create a new quality of wood feeling as a root-like element of the building such as a pillar and a beam in the building facade of roadside landscape made by mid-rise building in city of present-day Japan.
